He is also presenting an upcoming series for Smithsonian Channel - Borneo Wildlife Rescue - and is Executive Producer/presenter on a new series of feature length documentaries on global human-animal conflicts, On the Brink.

Bertie believes that conservation can be entertaining as well as educational, and is spearheading a new approach to environmental film-making: funservation. His failure to take himself too seriously can throw light to even the darkest of subject matters.

His images and articles have appeared in over 40 international publications including National Geographic Traveller, BBC Discover Wildlife, Asian Geographic, Men’s Health, Africa Geographic and FHM. His images have won a number awards including the 2017 Wildlife Photographer of the Year, photojournalist category,

Bertie is particularly interested in human-animal conflict. Over the past decade he has lived with remote shark fishermen in Mozambique, been pursued through Madagascar’s sacred forests by the ‘tortoise mafia’, lived on-board a commercial tuna fishing vessel, reported on Borneo’s ‘Sea Gypsies’ and much more.

He also works as a dive photojournalist and has travelled extensively through Asia and Africa, producing features on Indonesia, Madagascar, Borneo, Mozambique, Malawi, South Africa, Zanzibar and Pemba, for many international dive publications.
